I have some great news to share with our Dicky Beach clients. As you would be aware, after 20 years of service, Rigby retired in June 2025, and we found it very hard to replace him. After another fruitless search for a local accountant with the requisite experience, I decided to open up the search to a wider audience.
 
As you know, Asset Accountants and Advisers is a cloud based operation, and our staff are able to work in the office, or at home, or, in the case of our Philippine accountants, from overseas. I wondered if maybe I could find the right person if I opened up my search to include applicants who do not live in the local area. The answer was immediate. Within days I had applications from excellent candidates based all around the country and after several interviews, I knew I had found the right person for the job.
 
Ray is based in the Victorian High country. He has over 20 years in the industry, including 15 years as the owner of his own firm and years of experience in a large Top 10 Australian Accounting firm. Last couple of years he was in Logistics, before relocating. The chance to be able to get back into Business advisory and Tax work remotely, was the perfect opportunity.
 
Ray has now commenced with Asset Accountants and Advisers as a Senior Client manager working four days per week, Monday to Thursday. Ray will take over management of Rigby's clients, including those that were looked after by Gavin for a period. Contact with Ray will be the same as usual; a phone call to Rachel at Reception will be transferred to Ray. Contact with Ray will be via phone, email and online meetings when a face to face discussion is preferred. We have all gotten used to these methods of communication in the years since Covid and I firmly believe that a remotely based Client Manager can provide the same level of service as a locally based one. 
 
Don't forget, the rest of the team, Kayla, Laura, Kristine, Rachel and myself are still based at Dicky Beach, so for those of you who like to stop in for a chat, there are still plenty of friendly faces, and tax experience, in the Dicky Beach office.
